The Tailings Center

ABOUT US

The Tailings Center was established in 2020 by the Colorado School of Mines (CSM), Colorado State University (CSU), and the University of Arizona (UA). The Center serves as a hub for interdisciplinary education and research in tailings and mine waste management, fostering collaboration across disciplines to address complex industry challenges. By attracting and training the next generation of tailings professionals, introducing students and practitioners to the field, and advancing the tools and knowledge needed for responsible environmental stewardship, the Center is helping to support the sustainable future of mining.
